Dan Guillmor publicou em 2006 um livro sobre jornalismo colaborativo. Ele se tornou uma das referências no assunto e vem promovendo ou ajudando a promover ou tentando promover a transição do jornalismo tradicional - vender palavras para o público e vender o público aos anunciantes - para uma proposta open source. Ele inclusive disponibilizou seu livro na rede. Agora, encontrei um relatório produzido por uma organização apoiada por ele (não sei o tipo de envolvimento), também publicado na Web.

Media futurists have predicted that by 2021, "citizens will produce 50 percent of the news peer-to-peer."
